GRASBY, a village and parish, 6 miles E. by S. of Brigg,  3 miles N.W. of Caistor, and 2 miles from North Kelsey railway station, is in Caistor union , Caistor county court district, Yarborough wapentake,  Caistor  petty sessional division, North Kelsey polling district of North Lincolnshire and Yarborough (No 2) rural deanery of Stow archdeaconry.  Its rateable value is £1629 In 1891 it had 347 inhabitants and 1046 acres of land, partly on the western acclivity of the Wolds.  Messrs. Allison, Jonas Webb and A. Lushington are the principal owners of the soil. 
The  CHURCH (All Saints) consists of nave, chancel, north aisle and a tower and spire, containing a clock and four bells, was rebuilt in 1868-9, at a cost of upwards of £3400, by the late Rev. Charles Turner.  The  East window is filled with beautiful stained glass.  The two new bells, recently placed in the tower, are memorial bells; one in memory of Henry Selwood,  by his three daughters; and the other in remembrance of Mrs Tennyson, the late vicar's mother.  A mural tablet has been erected in memory of the late vicar, the Rev. C Turner, and his wife, by his family.  In 1883, a new organ was erected at a cost of £145, raised by subscription.  The register dates from 1653.  The vicarage is valued in KB at £5 17s 8d., and now at £255, having 154A. 3R. 2P. of Glebe, partly allotted at the enclosure, when 62 acres were awarded to the rectory, which was appropriated to Birstall Abbey, in Holderness, by the Earl of Albemarle, in 1115.  The living is in the gift of the representatives of  Lord Tennyson,  poet laureate, and is held by the Rev. Arthur W. Workman, BA  A handsome vicarage house was built in 1850, at a cost of £1200, partly obtained from Queen Anne's Bounty.  The  WESLEYAN CHAPEL was built in 1840, and THE PRIMITIVE METHODIST in 1841, and enlarged in 1862.  The PARISH SCHOOL, rebuilt in 1855, is attended by about 60 children.  The poor parishioners have a yearly rent-charge of 40s., left by Samuel Faulding, about 1720, out of land now belonging to Mr. Allison.
